In a lifetime, we meet many people—some just pass by, while others become a part of your life. When you hear the words “best friend,” who do you think of? If you had to use three adjectives to describe your best friend, what would you say?

My Best Friend

Hokkaido Airport

Speaking of “best friends,” I actually feel very lucky. Growing up, I’ve always had one or two people who truly understand me. When I hear the words “best friend,” the first face that pops into my mind is this one. Friends, do you still remember her? We’ve made a few videos together—have you seen them? We might not be together every day or talk every day, but every time we do, it feels like we were never apart.

Three Words to Describe Her

I want to use so many adjectives to describe her, but if I had to pick just three, I’d say: funny, reliable, and genuine. Her sense of humor is the kind that’s on a “soul level.” No matter what joke I tell, she can always follow up and even tell an even funnier one. She’s basically my joy generator. I always laugh so hard my stomach hurts when I talk to her.
She’s also super reliable and proactive. Whether it’s a plan we’ve made or a sudden idea, she’s always the first one to take action. Not only does she never procrastinate—she often comes up with even better ideas on her own. When doing things with her, I never have to worry about the follow-up. She makes sure every idea actually becomes reality.
What I like most about her is that she’s very genuine. She never beats around the bush—she always expresses herself directly, but without making people uncomfortable. Around her, I can be completely myself. She never makes fun of my wild ideas. Instead, she supports and encourages me. She’s like a mirror—but a mirror that amplifies my best qualities. Having a friend like her makes me feel so blessed.

Closing Thoughts

Friendship is something you often can’t explain—how it started, or how it grew deeper. Sometimes, it’s just a shared glance or a playful tease that suddenly brings you together. Other times, it’s the moments of crying and laughing together that slowly deepen the bond. If a name has already popped into your mind, then that person is probably your best friend. So, which three adjectives would you use to describe your best friend? Leave me a comment and let me know! Also, don’t forget to visit my website to read the full text of this diary entry!
